THE
KNOWLEDGE ERA IS UPON US |
|
Massive changes are taking place in almost
every area of life imaginable. Countries, governments, companies,
groups and individuals are rising and falling like ninepins. Change is at such a rate that it is destabilizing and creating
chaos throughout the world, and in our daily lives. Yet, we
are seeing astonishing quality in products and production. Millions are out of work, yet some executives earn multi-million
dollar salaries.
Our lives are under constant onslaught by
these changes. Two areas undergoing mind-boggling alteration
and sweeping reforms are Communism and Capitalism. Communism,
a social system characterized by the absence of classes and
by common ownership of the means of production and subsistence
(American Heritage Dictionary), lacked knowledge, discipline
and duplication, and tried to use force and subjugation of
individuals, groups and nations to accomplish its goals.
Communism ended because it didn't deliver what it promised. Capitalism,
an economic system characterized by freedom of the market
with increasing concentration of private and corporate ownership
of production and distribution means, proportionate to increasing
accumulation and reinvestment of profits (American Heritage
Dictionary), also lacked knowledge, discipline and duplication;
it believed that money was the basis of motivation. Capitalism
operates on the basic principle that individuals, groups,
and nations can be subjugated and controlled for a price. In the United States alone, Capitalism is four trillion dollars
in debt. Will chaos take the place of Communism and Capitalism? Or could there be a new form of culture? It is fairly obvious
to me that the next "ism" will be Knowledgism.
Knowledgism is the high-tech, high-touch
use of knowledge systems, processes and procedures to optimize
economies, societies, areas, subjects, objects, groups, and
individuals, and to help their utilization, quality and viability
for the greatest good of all. It is based on win-win accomplishment
for all, and includes that which is best from past systems.
As Knowledgism expands it will cross national boundaries and
those of race, color, and creed. A Knowledgist studies, practices
and applies knowledge for the greatest good of everyone. Knowledge
has become not only the power of today's society, but the
basis for survival in the future. In the coming years, the
rewards for being knowledgeable will be vast; the penalties
for ignorance, severe.
Knowledge and human power are synonymous.
-- Francis Bacon (1561-1626)
A Knowledgist, then, is one who strives to
maintain high levels of all the attributes created and demanded
by knowledge. Knowledgists also are aware of what they know,
what they do not know, and even that they know they don't
know. They are extremely positive in their actions. Given
the attributes needed to maintain a high level of knowledge,
a Knowledgist operates on a set of rules altogether different
than those of any other type of person. He keeps his knowledge
pure. He cannot be forced to pervert his knowledge. He uses
his knowledge for betterment only. Unless it is against a
few whom are destroying many, he cannot be forced to use his
knowledge to harm. He maintains an extremely high level of
honesty, for dishonesty is the hiding and obscuring of the
exact who, what, where, when, why, how, and mood, and manifests
as incompetence, a destruction of knowledge.
A Knowledgist consistently expands and updates
his knowledge. A Knowledgist remains true to his dreams and
aspirations and will help others be true to theirs. A Knowledgist
uses his knowledge to help those around him, both above and
below him in position. A Knowledgist would prefer to cease
to exist in his position than be forced to dishonor or pervert
his principles and knowledge. A Knowledgist is always willing
to pay the price of time, effort, money, attention, and power
to continue expanding his knowledge. A Knowledgist always
seeks to help and teach those around him or connected to him.
A Knowledgist seeks to maintain friendship with those who
seek knowledge and tries to help those who do not know. He
will not invest time with those who wish to prevent knowledge
in order to maintain the status quo. A Knowledgist is one
who knows he is responsible for obtaining the knowledge necessary
to continue expanding his knowledge. A Knowledgist will not
blame, abuse, punish, shame, or make others guilty for being
ignorant, but will always help them comprehend and put them
on a path that allows them to gain knowledge. When life or
an area is not moving in an uptrend and he cannot locate the
knowledge necessary to resolve the situation, a Knowledgist
will seek help from another who is masterful in that area
to handle the difficulties and unknowns. A Knowledgist is
aware of the areas in which he is subject literate and the
areas in which he is ignorant. A Knowledgist will always be
the best he can be. The foregoing are basic, universal laws
that allow one the willingness and ability to know.
Knowledgists come from all walks of life.
There is no discrimination based on color, creed or sex. They
can be of any religious group or political belief. A Knowledgist
is a true Power Player.

THE
KNOWLEDGE LADDER OF SOCIETY
|
|
We all agreed upon, and live in, a structured
society that has a very simple ladder:
LEADERS
EXECUTIVES
MARKETERS (EDUCATORS)
SUPERVISORS
Those above deal with people, those below
deal with things.
WHITE COLLAR WORKERS
BLUE COLLAR WORKERS
STUDENTS OUT OF WORK
This ladder has people who are out of work
(the homeless, hospital patients, criminals, convicts, etc.);
students (people who are learning work); blue-collar workers
(construction, maintenance, sanitation, delivery and distribution,
food services, etc.); white-collar workers (clerical and computer
operators, technicians, design and drafting, engineers, architects,
etc.); supervisors or lower managers, marketers (educators
- those who get a product or idea known and agreed with);
executives (office managers, vice presidents, etc.); leaders
(presidents, executive directors, dictators, emperors, etc.).
This is the Ladder of Society. This ladder
deals with two areas: people and things. What do all those
in the bottom section deal with? Things. Out-of-work people
can't handle things; students study about things; blue-collar
workers move and handle things; white-color workers design
or manage things. Going to the upper section of the ladder,
what do all these deal with? People. Supervisors manage people;
salespeople talk to people; executives direct people; leaders
lead people. Holding one of these upper-section jobs requires
learning about people.
Basically, there are three Knowledgist types,
each with four subcategories:
Type One:
Knowledgable about people and things.
a. Master b. Journeyman - Practioner c. Apprentice d. Student
Type Two: High-touch
people knowledge.
a. Master b. Journeyman - Practioner c. Apprentice. d. Student
Type Three:
Technical knowledge - knowledge of things.
a. Master b. Journeyman - Practioner c. Apprentice d. Student

THE
EVOLUTION OF KNOWLEDGE --
ITS CAUSE, EFFECT, AND CONTROL
|
|
The specific, definite sequence one must
go through to attain each Knowledgist type and subcategory
is:
1. Mentor in total control of student. (Dictatorship)(Apprenticeship)
2. Mentor maintains near-total control with some help and
contribution by student. (Works for)(Internship)
3. Equal control, help and contribution by both mentor and
student. (Works with)(Journeyman)
4. Self-determination bestowed upon student by mentor passing
control and empowering student to act for himself. (Empowerment
of)(Executive)
5. Student originating motion for mentor to do. (Control by)(Leadership)
6. Student originating motion and asking for mentor contribution.
(Control delegation)(Co-Executive)
7. Student and mentor agree on a co-motion and do it. (True
cooperation and creation of agreement)(Co-Leadership)
8. Either student or mentor in total control, either does
what the other wants without reluctance or reactions. (Co-Existence)
Millions of people today are becoming Knowledgists.
Knowledgists can't be controlled by force and entrapment.
Either may be effective temporarily, but sabotage, hidden
resentment, accidents, and things unexplainably going wrong
will happen when the above rules are violated. In semi-free
societies that try to control by oppressive management techniques,
a Knowledgist will tell the offending manager or company to
"shove the job" and, taking vast amounts of knowledge with
him, will leave. Companies, groups, churches, and even countries
that seek to suppress knowledge have witnessed their top people
leaving in droves. In an exodus that was called the "brain
drain," England saw as many as 200,000 top professional and
skilled people leaving yearly from 1949 to 1965. That loss
of knowledge and skill has had much to do with England's decline
of power until it's a mere shadow of its former might.
